About Nelson

Nelson is in need of a foster or adopter to help him transition to a new life in Wisconsin. Coming from an owner-surrender situation in Mississippi, where he lived among about 40 other Pomeranian/Chihuahua mixes, Nelson is ready for a fresh start at just 9 months old. He has never experienced life outside of an overcrowded home and will require some time and patience to adjust to his new environment. Upon arriving, Nelson may feel shy and unsure as he encounters the world beyond his previous surroundings. A family that understands this adjustment period will be essential; he needs a patient environment to build his confidence. Training to be a house dog, including potty and crate training, will be a part of his new journey. Having another friendly, confident dog around could also help him acclimate more comfortably. Nelson truly deserves the chance to know what it feels like to be part of a loving family. With consistent love and support, we are hopeful he will begin to show his sweet personality.
