About Gunner
Meet Gunner! This handsome boy is around 5–6 months old and weighs about 25–30 lbs. Gunner is likely a mix of German Shepherd and Anatolian Shepherd. Found as a stray, he has been living in the shelter since August, missing out on vital puppy experiences. Despite his rough start, he’s a happy, playful pup with immense potential. He’s still discovering his world and will benefit from a patient family to help him transition into home life. Gunner will need support with potty training, basic obedience, and socialization. His youthful energy means he’ll thrive with regular exercise and mental stimulation. Gunner enjoys the company of other dogs and would do well in a home with a canine companion, though he could be happy as an only dog if provided enough socialization and playtime. He’s yet to be tested with cats but may adapt with careful introductions. He has had limited exposure to children, so respectful older kids would suit him best. Ideally, Gunner would have access to a secure yard for safe play. While a fenced yard is preferred, we will consider loving homes without it. Adopting a puppy means committing to both the cuddly companion of today and the larger dog he’ll become. Fortunately, Gunner is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. He's waiting for a family to help him grow, explore, and learn beyond shelter life. Gunner is located in Elgin, TX, and will be transported to his new home once adopted. Please note that meeting him in person prior to adoption is not possible. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
