About Essie

Meet Essie, an adorable young poodle mix looking for her forever home. At just 7 months old, she's a tiny bundle of joy, weighing in at 6.5 pounds with a beautiful red coat. Recently recovering from a leg amputation, Essie is playful but tires easily as she builds her strength. She loves short bursts of play with her smaller dog friends and would thrive in an accepting environment. Essie is house trained; she’ll go to the door when she needs to go out but doesn't bark to alert. Though she's not yet crate trained, training is underway. In the car, she stays quiet, even if it’s not her favorite place to be. She gets along well with both dogs and cats, but she’d do best in a home without large dogs to ensure her safety while she regains her energy. Due to her small size, we recommend an age limit of 12+ for children in her new home. Essie is affectionate, gentle, and loves to snuggle next to her human. She’s ready to start her next chapter and would love to be someone's everything. Ready to make a new friend? Apply now!

While Essie enjoys moving around, her small size means she can get by with a small fenced area or even just some open indoor space where she can play.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Essie hasn't been around children yet, but due to her tiny size, a home with older, gentle kids aged 12 and up is recommended.
