About Mokie
Mokie is a 3-year-old, 16 lb poodle mix looking for just the right home. He gets along well with other dogs, but appreciates slow introductions to both new people and fellow pups. He's house, pee-pad, and crate trained, and even knows to ring a bell when he wants to go out. Mokie enjoys walks in a secure fenced yard or on a harness (his foster recommends double-leashing for now and ongoing leash-work). He loves soft toys, chasing balls, and working on puzzle mats, but more than anything, Mokie wants to cuddle up, get belly rubs, and stay close to his people. He's attentive, playful, and smart, always focused on his human. His foster's requirements are non-negotiable: adult-only home, no kids or child visitors, someone home much of the time, use of furniture steps so he doesn’t have to jump, and a commitment to ongoing structure and training. Mokie shouldn't be left alone for long stretches and homes must be local to allow for in-person meets and a home check. After adoption, he’ll need at least two weeks with just household members to decompress and bond before meeting others. As a note, Mokie had right femur surgery as a pup—while it doesn’t slow him down, he can be sensitive to touch in that area. He's neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped, currently in Cherry Hill, NJ. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
