About Trucker

Meet Trucker! Trucker is a vibrant 3-year-old Labrador Retriever ready to find his forever home. Weighing in at around 75 pounds, he’s a true companion that radiates enthusiasm, affection, and loyalty. Trucker is a Grade A Velcro dog, meaning he thrives on being close to his people and is happiest when included in all activities. Recently, he’s been mastering the art of crate training and settling into a routine with ease. As a house-trained dog, Trucker also rides well in the car and enjoys meeting new faces. He recognizes his name and can sit on command. Having lived with cats before, he gets along nicely with them. This big guy’s exuberance and joyful spirit make him a great match for families with older kids who can appreciate his playful nature. When on a leash, Trucker can be quite strong and energetic; however, with an Easy Walk Harness, he’s set for comfortable walks with you. Trucker needs a patient family willing to help him adjust and explore the exciting adventures life has to offer. Once he knows he’s home, his sweet and affectionate side truly shines. If you’re looking for a loyal co-pilot who will bring love and laughter into your life, Trucker could be the one for you! Preference will be given to adopters who commit to completing our six-week Canine 101 training class in person at our headquarters in Troy, VA. Adopters from out of area may be considered if they agree to one private lesson with GDU and attend a pre-approved positive reinforcement training class nearby.
