Pumpkin is a playful female puppy, currently about 2 months old and is expected to be medium-sized when fully grown. She is not yet spayed but is up-to-date on vaccinations. Though still learning the ropes of being a puppy, she has a friendly demeanor and is good with children and dogs. Currently located in Gainesville, VA, she is ready to become part of your family.

Meet Pumpkin! Pumpkin is a tiny, adorable pup estimated to be about 7 weeks old, soon on her way to a foster home in Millsboro, Delaware this October. She’s likely a mix of Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler and Terrier, possibly with a bit of Chihuahua or another small breed in her lineage. While her mom boasts a speckled cattle-dog look, her dad’s identity remains a mystery, meaning we can only speculate about Pumpkin’s eventual adult size. Despite her small stature, Pumpkin has a face that will melt hearts. Her warm coloring, dark muzzle, and those sweet puppy eyes make her perfectly suited for her fall-inspired name. As a young puppy, she requires a dedicated forever family willing to help with all her training basics. This includes potty training, crate training, leash skills, socialization, and redirecting those playful puppy behaviors into well-mannered adulthood. Pumpkin will arrive in Millsboro, DE during the first weekend of October. For those interested in welcoming her into your family, please fill out an application. Her adoption fee is set at $550. As she is too young to be spayed before adoption, there will be a spay/neuter contract to sign, requiring the adopter to arrange her spay around 6 months of age at their own expense. Once proof of her spay is provided, $100 of the adoption fee will be refunded. By adopting, you also support efforts to rescue more animals from high-intake shelters, covering transport, vaccines, deworming, microchipping, and other necessary veterinary care. Every adoption includes a complimentary first exam at any participating VCA Animal Hospital, which comes with a limited health guarantee for certain minor illnesses within the first 14 days.
