About Diablo

Meet Diablo! Diablo has spent over a year waiting for someone to look beyond his name and see the loving spirit inside. Once a stray abandoned at a sanctuary in South Carolina, his past remains somewhat of a mystery. Initially, he was a bit difficult, carrying an air of intimidation that puzzled everyone around him. Now, this approximately 3-year-old Malamute mix has blossomed into a playful and affectionate boy. He knows some commands and truly enjoys the company of other dogs, though he shows a strong preference for people. Diablo has a high-pitched Chewbacca-like vocalization that never fails to bring laughter. Currently heartworm positive, he’s undergoing slow-kill treatment. He’s house-trained to a doggie door and has just graduated from using a slow-feed bowl, which reflects the trust he’s developed. Being a large dog with a big personality, he’s always on the lookout for food, so a home without small children is best to keep everyone's mealtime safe. After all this time being misunderstood and slowly learning to trust again, Diablo is ready for what he has never had: a family of his own. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
