About Cowboy
Cowboy’s story is written in the scars that cover him. At just two years old, he’s already endured more than most dogs will in a lifetime. Abandoned by the person he trusted, Cowboy found himself tied to a metal post, unsure and frightened, until worse arrived. Left defenseless, he became the victim of repeated cruelty as a bait dog—his body still bears the jagged reminders. When rescue finally came, Cowboy was a battered spirit, shaking in his kennel, yet still hoping for kindness. Since being brought into care, Cowboy has been neutered, vaccinated, and started on heartworm treatment. He is learning that not all hands will hurt him. With new safety, Cowboy is slowly showing his gentleness. He’s cautious around other dogs and after everything, would likely feel most secure as the only dog in his new home. He’s taking steps to trust humans again, especially men, and his careful hope shows he’s still willing to try. Cowboy is house trained and ready for a fresh start with someone steady who will give him security and space to heal. He survived the unimaginable; now he needs a place where his courage is met with unshakeable love. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
