About Chief

Chief is a special 9-year-old hound who’s had quite the journey. Rescued from the streets of Flower Mound, he arrived emaciated and struggling with his appetite. After several attempts to boost his eating, a helpful volunteer introduced him to canned puppy food mixed with an appetite stimulant, which worked wonders! Now, Chief enjoys his meals alongside others, happily scarfing down kibble with a tasty topper. This affectionate boy thrives on attention and loves his squeaky balls. With perfect house manners, he is a joy to have around. However, Chief does have some quirks; you might spot him chewing on burnt wood by the fire pit. While he gets along with other dogs, he would prefer to be the only pet in the home. He’s not a fan of being touched on his neck and may snap if startled, so he would do best in a home with older children. Open your heart to this gentle companion and give him a loving home!
