About Zoey
Meet Zoey! This large Akita has a story that speaks volumes about her resilience. Once bought for breeding, she defied her owner's plans and was cruelly abandoned at a high-kill shelter. Multiple Akita rescues were contacted for help, yet no one stepped in to save her until our rescue took action. After a challenging start marked by aggression and mistrust, Zoey has made significant progress in learning love and trust. Zoey needs to be the only dog in her new home and does not get along with cats or children under 12. She's cautious around men and takes her time getting to know new people. Her fear of power tools is a reminder of her troubling past. However, with the right owner who can treat her like the queen she is, Zoey will offer boundless love in return. If you feel equipped to provide her that loving home, she could be the perfect match for you. The adoption fee is $450, which includes transport to the Midwest, Northeast, or Southeast.
