Rescued from a hoarding situation in Mexico, Barb arrived at FOHA with significant challenges and a history of fear. After leaving a crowded environment with over fifty dogs and spending time in foster care, she's now ready to learn and grow in a loving home. Barb can be sensitive to sudden sounds and unfamiliar faces, which makes any new experience a little daunting. She prefers the safety of quiet observation over bustling activity. But once she warms up, her affectionate side shines. You’ll find her snuggling in your lap, giving gentle kisses, and craving your attention. It’s all about trust for Barb, and she needs someone patient who will allow her to approach new experiences at her own pace. Although she’s done well in the presence of dogs, it’s important to assess her comfort level with them. Her reaction to cats is still a mystery, so a test is recommended. Given her sensitivity, an environment where she can understand the signals from her family and feel safe is essential, especially if there are kids around. Barb is in a transformative stage where gentle guidance can help her feel at home. Her journey hasn't been easy, but Barb is eager to learn that she can finally relax and trust.
