About Valentino
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Valentino, a resilient and affectionate pup whose heart is as big as his name. Rescued after a traumatic ordeal—tied to a tree for ten days with no food, water, or shelter—he is now discovering the joy of safety and love in a caring foster home. As a Diamond Dog, Valentino comes with additional behavioral support to help him and his adopter find lasting success together. Valentino is initially shy, especially with new people, but once he feels secure, his loving, playful nature shines through. He thrives with a patient, experienced adopter willing to give him time to adjust over several meet-and-greets, letting trust grow at his own pace. He gains confidence from his trusted person and blossoms in quiet, calm environments. With dogs, Valentino is selective—he prefers calm or submissive canine companions and enjoys rough-and-tumble play on his terms, but doesn’t like being dominated or crowded. A careful, single-dog introduction is essential, and he is best as the first dog in the home. He cannot live with cats, having shown that this isn’t a good fit, and he needs a quiet, adult-only household where fast movements and chaos won’t overwhelm his gentle spirit. In his foster home, Valentino is making strong progress with house manners and is learning commands like “sit,” especially when treats are involved. He responds very well to positive reinforcement and structure. His favorite things include playing fetch, being goofy in the yard, earning treats for good behavior, and enjoying sweet one-on-one time with people he trusts. Fast introductions and crowded environments are not for him—he’ll need slower transitions to feel comfortable and safe. Born under the sign of Gemini, Valentino embodies a playful yet thoughtful nature and is sure to bring unexpected joy to a loving home. If you are ready to earn his trust and build a lifelong bond, Valentino could be the loyal companion you’ve been waiting for. Make their next chapter their best one yet.

Questions about Valentino
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Terriers, especially mixed breeds, typically do well in a quiet, structured home with patient guidance. They are adaptable but benefit from a calm environment with consistency, making them well-suited for single-family homes.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Terriers appreciate regular access to a secure yard or outdoor space where they can play and explore. However, they can also adjust to smaller spaces like apartments if given daily walks and engagement.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Many Terriers do well with older, respectful children, but because of their sensitive nature and possible shyness, they may be better suited for homes without young kids or with children old enough to understand boundaries.
