About Polly
Polly is a compact Bully-type girl with oversized ears, a lively spirit, and a soft spot for snuggling. Her early life wasn't easy—she came from a tough past and landed in a shelter at a young age—but in foster care, she's transformed into a joyful, affectionate companion. These days, Polly relishes yard romps, invents her own games with toys, and really leans into being a world-class cuddler. She loves other dogs, gains confidence from her pack, and will absolutely thrive with a social, playful dog sibling. With humans, Polly is warm and loving though she needs a little patience to build trust, especially at first. She’s bonded closely with both the adults and the 11-year-old in her foster home and loves pushing her head in for a hug or snuggling on the couch. Polly has learned to handle new situations and now enjoys exploring on walks, especially if she gets a chance to sniff and roam a bit. She’s crate-trained and sees her crate as a safe haven when home alone or at night. Polly knows some commands like 'sit', 'leave it', and 'down,' but still has a playful streak and occasional wiggle distractions. She’ll need an owner who respects her initial timidity and gives her space to acclimate. A quieter neighborhood, rather than a city environment, will help her settle in more comfortably. Polly does not get along with cats but loves playing with other dogs and is good with children. She’s proven that with kindness and steady guidance, she'll open up and become a bright, sassy, loyal family member. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
