About Joy FH

Meet Joy, a sweet and gentle young dog discovering the joys of her foster home. Initially a bit reserved with new people, she quickly warms up once she feels secure. Joy prefers to approach on her own terms, so don’t expect her to jump all over visitors. Currently living with an 11-year-old male dog and a young female puppy, she gets along well with both. While Joy enjoys playtime, she leans towards a more laid-back canine companion. She's playful yet knows how to unwind after a good romp. Joy boasts excellent manners and an easygoing nature. She's house trained, crate trained—quiet and comfortable in her crate—and walks nicely on a loose leash. She knows her name and basic commands like sitting and waiting at thresholds. With a calm demeanor, she even rides well in the car, shares toys, and respects boundaries without being destructive or vocal. Recently, she tackled a 1.25-mile walk with ease. Joy would make a splendid walking or running companion. Although she seems to enjoy kids, a calm household without very young or rambunctious children may suit her best, as loud, sudden noises can be unsettling. Joy is a well-mannered girl who doesn’t require the spotlight; she’s content to play, walk, and then relax for a nap. Welcoming Joy means embracing the responsibilities of consistent training and socialization, which are crucial for her to grow into a well-adjusted adult. A commitment from the whole family will aid in building a strong bond and a consistent environment for her to thrive. Joy has had some basic training, but continued guidance will help her flourish.
