Duke
AvailableDuke is a Labrador Retriever mix living in Osteen, FL. He’s a young male in the baby stage and considered medium-sized for his age. Duke gets along well with other dogs and is good with children. He’s making solid progress with his house training, and his ongoing recovery needs will require a bit of patience and commitment from his adopter.
About Duke
Duke is about 4 months old and right in the thick of his puppy stage, buzzing with curiosity and energy. He shows real promise already—he comes when called, is eager to please, and has picked up on working for treats. Potty and crate training are already underway, and he reliably sleeps through the night. Like any puppy, he still needs leash training, so a secure, fenced yard is required for him. Duke is recovering well from recent FHO surgery, and whoever takes him home needs to help see him through the rest of his recovery. He’s tough—already handling the healing process better than most pups his age. He loves being around people, warms up quickly, and thrives on companionship, often sticking close by. Duke also enjoys other dogs and likes toys, balls, sticks, and anything he can chew on. He’s still working on manners and boundaries and would do best with patient, steady dogs while he learns. Duke’s special because of his early training, big heart, calm and thoughtful demeanor, and impressive resilience. Adoption requires agreeing to a delayed neuter, handled locally in Orlando at the rescue’s expense. If you’re in Central Florida and ready to put in the work with a good-natured lab mix puppy, give Duke a look. Let’s make it official, apply to adopt!
