About Rocky
Meet Rocky! This adorable Pomeranian, about 5 years old and weighing 8.5 pounds, came to Loving Pet Project NC when his previous family had to make some difficult changes. Once a cherished pet, he’s taking his time adjusting to foster life. Rocky is very much a "let me come to you" type of dog. He prefers to approach on his own terms and enjoys curling up in your lap once he feels comfortable. Quick movements can startle him, so his new family should be patient and respectful of his boundaries. He would do best in a home without children under 14. He's transitioning from a pampered lifestyle of home-cooked meals to dog food, showing progress with meals that include some cooked chicken. Rocky's potty habits are improving with his settled routine, and while leash training is a work in progress, a fenced yard would be ideal for him. Rocky gets along well with other dogs and has previous experience living with cats. He likes being near his humans but doesn’t display signs of separation anxiety. Visitors need to understand that Rocky may need to take the first step in interactions, which he has been known to do at his own pace. Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, Rocky is scheduled for a dental appointment in October. This sweet boy is eager for someone patient enough to bring him out of his shell.
