About Banjo
Banjo is a delightful little guy who still turns heads with his youthful looks, even at 8 years old. Weighing in at about 30 pounds, this brindle dog thrives on affection and companionship. His current family is heartbroken to rehome him, as their busy lives with a soon-to-arrive baby make it challenging to provide the calm environment that Banjo requires. Banjo enjoys a leisurely day filled with gentle walks and quiet moments near his favorite person. He’s well-behaved on a leash, good with other dogs, and knows basic commands. House trained and crate trained, he is responsive to training and treats, making him a charming companion. However, Banjo does need a specialized home. Due to his previous experiences, he has a bite history that must be taken seriously, especially regarding hands in his space when he feels scared. His last bite incident occurred almost three years ago, and he has been under the care of a veterinary behaviorist since then which has greatly improved his behavior. While he's worn a muzzle in stressful situations, he's never displayed aggression towards kids. That said, he would thrive in a calm home with an experienced owner who can support him through challenges. Banjo also deals with a sleep-related seizure disorder and allergies, managed with medication. His current owner is committed to assisting with his medical needs and costs for the right match. This affectionate companion simply wants to relax beside you while you go about your day. For an experienced, patient owner in a quiet home, Banjo could be a wonderful loyal friend.
