Meet Penny. If ears could talk, Penny would have a lot to share. This lovely whippet/shepherd mix is part of the Tecate Litter, rescued from tough conditions in Tecate, Mexico. When she arrived, she was severely underweight, but she faced her new life with a wagging tail and an eager spirit. Penny embodies sweetness. She's gentle and affectionate, always wanting to be close to her humans. While she has a calm demeanor, her curiosity shines through—within just one day of getting settled, she figured out how to use the doggie door! She fits in wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children, making her an ideal addition for most families. Now learning what it means to be a loved family member, Penny is soaking up every lesson. Like many dogs that have experienced food insecurity, she is food-motivated and gets excited at meal times. A slow feeder will help her eat comfortably as she gains healthy weight. Penny is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. She's doing well with kennel training and continues to impress us with how quickly she adjusts to new routines.
