About Smokey
Meet Smokey, or as he's affectionately called, Smoked Sausage. This 13-year-old tabby has a knack for appearing unamused, yet he's quite the lively and entertaining companion. Behind that grumpy facade is a playful spirit who seems to forget that he’s a senior. Despite his age, Smokey has a surprising amount of energy. He loves to chase toys, bat at anything that piques his interest, and charmingly chirps when he has something to say. He does take a bit of time to warm up to new faces, so be patient and let him come to you at his own pace. Once he feels comfortable, you’ll discover his funny, playful side. Since arriving in foster care, he has thrived, although he needs to stay on a lifetime prescription renal diet and take oral medication tucked into pill wrap. It's worth noting that Smokey must live in a dog-free home; he's understandably terrified of dogs and needs a peaceful environment. While he currently resides with a "sister" from his previous home, they are not bonded and don’t need to be adopted together. Smokey would do best in a quieter home with older children who understand that he values his space. With excellent litter box manners and plenty of kitten-like playfulness, Smokey just might be the perfect match for you. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
