About Adalynn
Meet Adalynn! This lovely girl is in search of a wonderful new home. She has some initial fears around strangers, but once she warms up, she becomes a playful, loving companion who enjoys being right by your side. Adalynn is an approximately 4-year-old female, weighing around 14 pounds. While her shelter paperwork indicated she’s a Shih Tzu mix, she bears a strong resemblance to a Pekingese mix. She has been spayed, is up to date on vaccinations, and has been microchipped. Thankfully, she’s heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. Having been left at the shelter, Adalynn arrived scared but has shown tremendous progress in her foster care. Patience is key with her; she needs time to adjust to new people and environments. Once she trusts you, you’ll find a devoted, well-behaved companion. She tends to be fearful, particularly around men, though her foster dad managed to win her over. While she’s made great strides with potty training, especially if taken outside regularly, she can use potty pads overnight if needed. Adalynn loves her daily walks and enjoys sniffing around during her adventures. When it comes to other dogs, she can be a little bossy, especially when it comes to food and toys. Ideally, she would thrive as an only dog, although she may do well with a compatible companion. Adalynn has not been around kids in her current foster home, but older children who can give her space might be a good fit. Keep in mind that she requires introduced carefully to new people and situations. Veterinary and home checks will be essential, and she needs to be adopted within an hour's drive of her location in Yorktown, VA.
