Although she hasn't been weighed recently, her petite frame is quite endearing. While she isn't yet house trained, she depends on pee pads for her needs. Libby is not altered and currently requires everyday anxiety medication which her foster hopes she’ll gradually reduce. Her special needs make a patient adopter essential. Living in West Columbia, SC, Libby is certainly ready to find her special home.
About Libby
Meet Libby, a delightful 2-year-old mini Red Boar Dachshund weighing in at 9.8 pounds. This energetic girl thrives with plenty of exercise, whether on walks or in a safe fenced yard where she can explore and play. While she’s affectionate and loves cuddling, she requires time to warm up to new people and prefers adults. Small children aren’t a good match for her due to her past experiences. Libby enjoys companionship with other dogs, especially playful ones, making her ideal for a home with another dog to help ease her anxiety. Libby is vocal, especially when strangers approach, so she’s not well-suited for shared walls like apartments. Currently, she relies on pee pads for potty training and hasn't acclimated well to crates. Her previous home environment hasn't been the easiest, and she’ll need patience and understanding during the transition. Although she takes anxiety medication twice a day, her foster believes she might adjust and wean off it once she finds a stable forever home.
