About Lil Bit
Lil Bit barrels into a room with enough personality for a dozen dogs. This high-energy, long-haired red Dachshund/Pomeranian mix is up for anything life offers if she can tag along. At two years old, she’s settled well into her foster’s multi-dog household – she mixes with dogs of all ages and sizes, and is happiest when canine friends are near. After losing her previous owner, Lil Bit’s ready to invest all her affection into a new forever family. She hands out kisses generously and loves adventure, always eager for woodland walks or romps in a securely fenced yard. She uses pee pads indoors and is working on full outdoor potty habits, so future adopters should bring a little patience to finish her training. A pen set-up (not a crate) keeps her happy when alone, and she settles especially quickly if there are other dogs nearby. Apartment life isn’t her style – Lil Bit’s vocal, so homes without shared walls are best. She’s on a weight management plan that’s already making a difference; she’ll need ongoing encouragement to reach her healthy weight. With people, Lil Bit does fine once she settles in, but new faces on the street can make her wary. She’s food-motivated, which makes training a breeze, but homes with older kids are best; she might be tempted by snacks in little hands. She’s looking for someone to keep up the routines and adventures she loves. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
