Avena is a lovely dog who impressively balances her medium size of around 35-40 lbs with a big heart. At about 3 years old, she has a charming mix of German Shepherd and Terrier. Originally from a farm near San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, Avena has spent her early life running free with friends and later embraced life in a busy household filled with kids and other dogs. This spayed girl is house trained and up to date on vaccinations. She understands all basic commands and walks well on a leash, although she can be quite enthusiastic when she spots other dogs. Avena thrives on social interactions, whether it's with people or fellow pets, and enjoys visiting dog parks and open spaces. The ideal home for Avena would be one that includes dog savvy owners who can continue her training and provide her with daily companionship. A yard is a must for her playful spirit; she’s not suited for apartment living or homes where she’ll be left alone all day. Her affectionate nature makes her a great candidate for families with older children or even a retired person who can shower her with love. Avena will be arriving on October 8.
