About Dolly
Meet Dolly, a delightful Shihpoo mix who has finally embraced a life of freedom and comfort after retiring from her breeding days. She spent time with a breeder and then briefly with a young man who realized he couldn’t care for all the dogs he had. Thankfully, Dolly found her way to Worthy Dog, where she’s beginning to understand what family means. Now around 5 to 7 years old and weighing just 6 pounds, Dolly is thriving in her foster home with two other pups and her loving foster mom, Renee. She’s housebroken and crate trained, getting the hang of walking on a leash, and she adores spending time in laps. If you stop petting her, she’ll let you know she wants more affection. Dolly warms up to her people, though she might bark at newcomers at first. She’s making great strides in trusting them, especially with Renee’s regular male neighbor, who she now enjoys playing with! Recently, she had her first outing to Walmart, riding smoothly in the cart and adapting to the environment, even though she’s a bit nervous around bigger dogs. Despite her shyness, Dolly is enjoying her newfound life as a pampered pet. She gets along well with other dogs and would be happy in a multi-pet household or as a cherished solo companion. With her stunning long coat needing regular grooming, she’s an affectionate little lady ready to join a loving home. Dolly will be arriving in the DC metro area in late September or early October.
