About Sawyer
Meet Sawyer! At about a year old, Sawyer has already been through quite a journey. This handsome boy showed up as a stray, scared and alone. Found cowering under a house, he was clearly terrified and lost. Despite efforts to locate his owner, no one came forward, so now Sawyer is on the hunt for the forever home he deserves. Our vet believes Sawyer is a mix of Catahoula Leopard Dog and Shepherd. Already weighing in at about 55 pounds, he’s set to be a big, athletic dog! During the last several months in foster care, Sawyer has learned to trust people again. He’s blossomed into a wonderful companion. Crate trained and knowing commands like “sit,” “down,” and “stay,” he has excellent house manners and takes care of his potty business outside. It’s clear Sawyer was likely a family dog before becoming lost. He loves outdoor play, tossing and chasing his toys but dislikes being left outside alone. If he thinks his person is heading inside without him, he rushes to the door, eager to join. Smart and observant, he quickly learns routines and attentively observes everything around him. At bedtime, Sawyer quietly settles in his crate, waiting for morning with patience. This playful, goofy boy is sure to keep a smile on your face. He enjoys chasing bugs (as long as they’re not chasing him!) and keeps the frogs in the yard on their toes. Sawyer’s adoption fee is completely waived and includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, current heartworm prevention, and microchip.
