Meet Sawyer! At just about a year old, Sawyer has been on an incredible journey. He started as a stray, found scared and hiding under a house. Sadly, no one came forward to claim him, and now Sawyer is hoping to find the forever home he truly deserves. Our vet believes he’s a mix of Catahoula Leopard Dog and German Shepherd, and weighing in at 55 pounds, he’s on his way to becoming a big, athletic dog. In foster care, Sawyer has thrived. He’s learned to trust again and shows himself to be a wonderful companion. Crate trained, he knows commands like "sit," "down," and "stay," and has excellent house manners, always doing his business outside. It's clear Sawyer was once an indoor family dog—he enjoys outdoor playtime but does not like being left alone outside. He rushes back to the door if he thinks his person is going inside without him. Sawyer loves toys and brings them out to play, showcasing his playful nature. In addition to being smart, he’s very observant, quickly learning routines and settling quietly in his crate at bedtime. He waits patiently in the mornings until everyone is up before starting his day. This sweet boy has a goofy side that’s sure to bring a smile to your face, especially when he's chasing bugs—well, as long as they’re not chasing him!
