About Rufus

Meet Rufus, a shy yet silly 6-year-old Shepherd/Pit mix weighing in at 70 lbs. He’s looking for his forever home and is eager to share his love with the right family. Rufus enjoys car rides, cuddling, and playful doggy interactions. Fetch may not be his game, but he’s an excellent companion for quiet drives. With a little time, he warms up quickly to women and is friendly to everyone with some patience. He’d thrive in a home with a dog sibling, as he’s both patient and happy to lounge with quieter pups. While he hasn’t lived with kids or small pets, he once shared a home with a 25 lb dachshund and got along well. Rufus is gentle, non-destructive, and even managed without a crate in foster care. He walks nicely on a leash with little pulling, though his recall could use improvement. This smart, gentle boy is ready to love you! Click apply to start the adoption process.
