About Smokey Family Friendly
Meet Smokey! This young male, a mix of German Shepherd and Rottweiler, has come a long way since arriving at the rescue. Once a timid pup, he now delights in the company of people and other dogs, making him a wonderful family companion. Smokey does exceptionally well with children as young as six months old. Along with his brothers, Sheriff and Bandit, Smokey was rescued from a challenging situation in Crook County. At first, he felt overwhelmed by the changes in his life, but with the care and patience of the Street Dog Hero team, he's blossoming. Each day brings more confidence as he enjoys walks with volunteers and greets new friends with friendly licks. Because Smokey is still overcoming his initial fears, his future family should be patient and understanding. He requires an adopter who will allow him to gradually build his confidence. Experience with large, intelligent breeds would be helpful. Ideally, pairing him with a confident canine buddy could also ease his transition into a forever home. Let's give Smokey the loving forever family he's been waiting for! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
