Moose
AvailableMoose is a large, male mixed breed dog with a golden short coat. He is house trained, altered, and up to date on vaccinations. Moose is known for his affectionate and friendly demeanor, making him a wonderful companion. He's currently in Berkeley Springs, WV.
About Moose
Moose entered the shelter a little over a year ago, initially labeled as a hospice patient due to an aggressive soft tissue sarcoma and a limited timeline. However, this lovable character defied expectations—about nine months later, scans showed no sign of cancer. Now, he’s a healthy, energetic companion looking for a new home as his foster can no longer provide the support he needs. Moose is eager to please and responds well to commands. He's a sociable dog who enjoys outdoor adventures and walks nicely on a leash. His affectionate nature shines through, especially with cats and relaxed dogs. However, Moose does need a home that prioritizes safety, as he experiences severe panic during thunderstorms, often leading him to attempt to escape if left alone. His cleverness makes him an escape artist, so proactive supervision and security measures will be essential. Moose cannot be crated due to his determination, so potential adopters should consider his specific needs carefully. With the right environment, he promises to be a loyal and loving friend.
