About Millie
Millie is a 6-year-old, 8 lb Chihuahua who spent her early days in an Amish puppy mill before being rescued in July. This shy girl is learning to enjoy the comforts of a home but will need some patience and time to fully adjust. While she remains wary of hands, once she accepts attention, she loves gentle pets and scratches, especially on her backside. Millie enjoys lounging on fuzzy dog beds and couches and is comfortable in her crate. Although she's curious about people, she can be quite nervous and shy rather than aggressive. Good news: she gets along with cats and dogs of all sizes. Millie does enjoy outdoor time but needs a securely fenced yard as she doesn't walk on a leash and isn't quite ready for outdoor adventures. After having all her rotten teeth removed, she's happier and thrives on soft food. While she’s good about going outside to potty on a schedule, she doesn’t signal when she needs to go. The ideal home for Millie is one that recognizes her need for gentle companionship and patience. Since she requires help with getting outside and into her crate, her new owner should be able to comfortably pick her up. Millie is ready to find her forever home.
