About Trixie
Trixie is a 10-pound senior malti-poo, estimated to be between 10 to 12 years old, and she needs a very special forever home. This sweet girl has faced more challenges than any dog should endure. Trixie's previous owner developed dementia, leading to her abandonment in a trailer, where she spent an entire month alone. When rescued, her condition was heartbreaking; her coat was severely matted and required emergency grooming. While she looks much better now, she still needs time and love to heal emotionally. Currently, Trixie spends time pacing, but she doesn’t seem overly distressed. We are trying Prozac to help her feel more comfortable. On occasion, you’ll catch moments of her playful side, which is encouraging. However, she has yet to bond closely with her foster parents, preferring her cozy corner for security. Trixie's compatible with her foster canine friends and even the resident cat, showing she can share her space. She does have some accidents indoors, manageable with regular potty breaks. While she can hear and see, Trixie does experience some impairment in both. After dental work led to nine teeth extraction and addressing her heart murmur, the vet holds hope for improvement in her condition. What Trixie truly needs is a patient and compassionate adopter ready to provide her a safe, predictable environment to blossom at her own pace. Professional grooming is essential for Trixie every 6 to 8 weeks, so any groomer recommendations are appreciated. This resilient girl deserves a quiet and secure life. Are you that rescue angel Trixie has been waiting for?
