About Ryder

Meet Ryder, your dog's new best friend. This tall, lanky, goofy 11-month-old Anatolian mix is learning that the world can be a fun and safe place, despite his challenging start from a hoarding situation. Currently, he’s blossoming in a foster home, gaining confidence as he meets all sorts of playful pups. Playing in the yard is one of his absolute favorites! Ryder lives with two young kids, and despite their rambunctious nature, he prefers their company over adults, quietly observing their play. He's not very affectionate yet, but when he does come for some pets, it’s a big sign that he feels safe. Given his big personality, Ryder requires another dog in the home to help him navigate life, especially since he’s not so fond of loud noises. He finds comfort in his canine buddies, and if they seem calm, he settles down more quickly. He’s well-behaved in a crate—especially if there’s a bone to chew on—and is house-trained. Yet, he’s still honing his leash skills; a harness is preferred as he’s not quite used to collars. Ryder’s forever home should include a secure fence and a low-traffic environment, as he’s more of a homebody than a social butterfly. With time and patience from a confident adopter, he could thrive in a loving home! Ryder is currently fostered in Michigan but can travel a reasonable distance. Give Ryder the chance he deserves.
