About Chancellor

Chancellor, or 'Chance' as he’s affectionately known, is currently in foster care in Waukesha, WI. He’s a striking blue merle standard Australian Shepherd with captivating heterochromia. At around 3 years old, Chance weighs approximately 51 pounds. He arrived at rescue alongside another Aussie, Bishop, after being found as strays in poor condition. Both boys were dirty, matted, and in need of proper care, suggesting they had likely been discarded after a breeding situation. Chance is interested in other dogs and enjoys their company, but he can be shy around new people. He needs time to warm up and build trust, so his ideal adopter will be someone who understands Australian Shepherds and is patient enough to let him adjust at his own pace. A physically fenced yard will help him feel secure, and a more submissive female dog could provide valuable companionship. Crate trained and potty trained, Chance finds comfort in his crate and walks beautifully on a leash. He loves exploring, especially if there are treats involved—like cheese and steak—which can help him make new friends. Chance isn’t seeking perfection right away; instead, he hopes for an adopter who appreciates his potential and is willing to take things step by step. His journey toward confidence is sure to be rewarding, and he deserves a loving home where he can thrive. Click apply to start the adoption process.
