Despite that tough start, Daniel is full of joy and silly antics! At 3 years old and around 25 pounds, he’s a soft, velcro companion who loves to cuddle up next to you or nap by your feet. Daniel has a playful side; hand him a stuffie, and you'll see him toss it into the air, catching it repeatedly like a pro. He thrives with a doggie sibling who can help him feel more confident, but he's also gentle with cats and is good with children aged 8 and up. An easygoing fella, Daniel walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys car rides. He’s crate trained and prefers to sleep in his crate at night. House training is going well, but a little refresher might be helpful as he adjusts to a new home. What makes Daniel particularly special is that he is deaf, likely from birth, but he's learned to “listen” with his eyes. He knows hand signals for sit and come, and he’s speedy about picking up new commands. On top of that, he is undergoing treatment for heartworms but is expected to make a full recovery.
