About Joey

Meet Joey, a sweet six-month-old German Shepherd who's on the road to recovery after a successful surgery to repair a severe fracture in his right femur. Joey arrived at the shelter with urgent medical needs, including an infected wound, which led to swift action by our team and our friends at UC Davis. He's now recovering well and is expected to head to his foster home soon. Although Joey will need to be confined to a crate for a few months to ensure proper healing, his playful spirit is sure to shine through as he prepares for a full recovery. This gentle boy gets along well with dogs and children, making him a fantastic addition to any family once he's healthy again. As he heals, Joey would appreciate treats and toys, which can be sent via our wish lists. The support of our community is invaluable as we shelter many animals like him who need time to recuperate before they find their forever homes. Ready to welcome Joey into your heart?
