Meet Smokey! This vibrant 2-year-old neutered Lab mix is a bundle of joy, tipping the scales at 56 pounds. Fully vaccinated and microchipped, he’s prepared to find his forever family. Smokey embodies playfulness and a touch of silliness. His moderate energy level makes him perfect for playtime, especially with other dogs. He thrives in the company of a confident, playful dog who can help guide him. Smokey has shown he can remain calm around kids while crated, displaying a gentle nature. He’s also okay with cats—though he might occasionally initiate a playful chase, he can just as easily ignore them when he’s feeling laid-back. Smokey is social and friendly, greeting new people with enthusiasm but barking at those outside his home to alert you. Although he’s still very much a puppy at heart, Smokey is learning basic skills. His leash manners are a work in progress; while he does better with a harness, he may need some patient training. Though he doesn’t love the crate, he settles down once inside. It’s best to crate him when left alone for up to 9 hours, as he has some escape artist tendencies. Smokey loves to share and is intrigued by everything that looks edible. He enjoys his toys, can be a bit nervous in the car, and climbs stairs without a fuss. At night, you’ll find him sleeping peacefully next to his foster’s bed until morning.
