Meet Sancho! Little Sancho is only 8 months old and his start in life has been tough. Found as a stray in a rural area, he’s had to fend for himself for quite some time. Now in a foster home, he’s doing well but is still getting his footing. Though a bit wary of newcomers, once Sancho trusts you, he turns into a sweet and affectionate companion. He loves to cuddle and is comfortable with being handled, including having his paws touched. He knows his name and has good recall. Sancho has a quirky habit of hiding treats for later, likely a leftover behavior from his uncertain past. Being young and still figuring things out, Sancho needs a family that’s patient and kind. He’s not a fan of being alone and takes time to warm up to new faces. Continued socialization will help him feel secure. Although he’s making strides with leash training, he can bark at other dogs if he’s feeling anxious. He’s still working on potty training, and car rides aren’t his favorite since he gets a bit car sick. Sancho will thrive best in a quieter home without too much chaos or young children. He’s a lovely little guy who just requires some tender love and care while he adjusts to his new life. Sancho will be vaccinated, neutered, and chipped.
