Basil is a sweet beagle mix with puppy eyes and a big heart ready to love. This cutie's favorite job is shadowing his people! He loves to know what you're up to and wants to be involved, whether that's cuddling on the couch, going for a car ride, or exploring the world by nose. Basil is ready to soak up the attention from anyone he meets and takes his job of giving greetings and sniff-downs to new guests seriously! He especially loves saying hello to kids. This gentle guy also has a playful side and enjoys chewing on his toys and has a penchant for hiding his bones for a tasty snack later. While Basil didn't seem to know much at first, he is a smart cookie and has learned "sit" and is making great progress with house and crate training. He is still working on feeling secure when alone, but with high-value treats and patience, he is improving. He especially loves cheese and pumpkin! Basil has been cat and dog tested and we believe he is dog and cat friendly, although he is not living with either as of now. He is currently recovering from a broken toe, but he's easy to keep busy with toys, lick mats, kongs, and giving him lots to sniff. However, he prefers just lounging around, especially when you are!
