About Yumvillage

Yumvillage A186998 80 lb. neutered male, approx 1 1/2 years old -This handsome guy may be a big boy, but he's convinced he belongs right in your lap! 😂 Once we got outside, he explored the yard, took care of business, and then came right over to jump into my lap and absolutely slather my face with kisses. We became fast friends apparently! -Walking with him is a bit of an adventure--he walks nicely without much pulling, but he's also a dedicated sniff inspector! He likes to stop and take in everything, and occasionally puts on the brakes because there are just too many interesting smells to investigate. Slow walks with lots of sniffing are definitely his style! -He enjoys pets, loves being close to his people, and takes treats gently. He may know "sit" and was able to show it off once with a little guidance, so he may just need some practice to perfect his skills. He also showed some interest in a toy and happily chased after it, even if he decided picking it up wasn't part of the game. -Every now and then, something unfamiliar--like a tarp blowing in the wind--might make him pause and take notice, showing that he has a slightly sensitive side beneath his outgoing personality. But overall, he's a sweet, affectionate, big lap dog who is ready to shower his people with love and kisses. -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
