About Axel
Axel is a 2–4-year-old, 79-pound black Labrador Retriever with a big, goofy heart and a love for life. He’s neutered and up to date on vaccinations, making him a wonderful addition to any family. At home, Axel is a true couch potato, happy to curl up next to his people or canine pals. However, he also has a playful side, especially when it comes to enjoying his toys, particularly ropes. A large fenced yard would be perfect for him to run and explore. Axel is very good with other dogs and enjoys playing and snuggling with his foster siblings. He adores children too, keeping a watchful eye on his human siblings aged 7, 10, and 12, always ensuring that everyone is where they should be. He gets along well with livestock too but would be better in a home without small animals, as his instincts might kick in around them. He walks nicely on a leash and has great manners, never jumping up on family members when they return home. Like many Labs, Axel has learned that his big paws can be quite helpful when it comes to seeking snacks. He’s been working on his counter-surfing habits and prefers to eat in peace without sharing his meals with his foster sisters. Axel has overcome significant challenges in his past, including heartworm treatment, and is now thriving. While he is sensitive to loud noises, he remains a gentle giant who truly loves people and other dogs.
