Meet Gus! AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER, ADOPTION, OR FOSTER TO ADOPT Gus is currently in Tennessee and is eligible for BFAR’s Foster to Adopt program. Gus is an Australian Shepherd mix born on February 16, 2024. He weighs approximately 60 pounds. PERSONALITY: Gus is a happy, affectionate boy with a friendly personality and a wonderful temperament. He enjoys being around people and has a moderate energy level, making him a great companion for walks, playtime, and relaxing with his family. Gus was found living on a chain without shelter. Despite that difficult beginning, he has not allowed his past to define him. He is ready to leave that chapter behind and experience the safety and love he has always deserved. OTHER DOGS: Gus has done very well with all the dogs at the Tennessee rescue. CHILDREN: Gus has done well with children. CATS: Unknown. MEDICAL: Gus has been successfully treated for heartworm and is doing well. He also has dental damage from his previous living conditions. Two damaged lower canine teeth will be removed before his adoption. BEST FIT: Gus would do well with a family that enjoys walks, playtime, and spending time together. He will benefit from a consistent routine and continued guidance as he adjusts to life in a new home. Gus has already shown how resilient he is. Now he needs a foster or adopter willing to give him the safe, loving home he has waited so patiently for.
