About Joey
Meet Joey! Joey's journey hasn’t been easy, but we believe the toughest parts are behind him. He is one of five Shih Tzus rescued from a small town north of Austin after their family was deported. Left behind without care, these dogs faced the sweltering Texas heat until a neighbor stepped in with food and water. It took a concerted effort from Orphan Annies Neonatal Rescue, Victoria Turner, Mina Davis, and Mini Wonders Adoptions to ensure that all five pups made it to safety. At about 2 years old, Joey is ready for a fresh start. Although he grew up with his brother Donny, they sometimes clashed, so finding separate homes would allow each of them to thrive individually. Joey gets along with other dogs but prefers the company of female dogs or neutered males. He adores people and is eager to experience what true family life feels like. After facing more uncertainty than any dog should, Joey is looking for that special person who can provide him with love, patience, and understanding.
