Meet Carrot Cake, a timid yet incredibly sweet 1-year-old female Terrier mix weighing around 25 lbs. She needs some time to adjust, but once she does, she loves nothing more than to curl up on your lap and soak in the affection. Although she’s still learning how to walk on a leash, her gentle nature shines through. Carrot Cake is one of over 80 dogs rescued from a tough hoarding situation. These dogs lived in very poor conditions, struggling to find enough food and companionship. Many faced years of neglect. Despite their past, Carrot Cake and her companions are proving their resilience and eagerness to know what it feels like to be loved and safe. With plenty of warmth and dedication from our staff and volunteers, they have begun their journey toward healing.
