Cooper is a gentle three-year-old Chihuahua who found his way to the Stanislaus shelter in a time of need. When he arrived, he was among 19 other dogs caught up in an animal welfare case. After patiently waiting through legal proceedings, he is now ready for a loving home. Cooper is a bit shy initially but warms up quickly to those he trusts. Having settled nicely into foster care, he's proven to be fully house trained. During the day, he loves to nap by your feet and is remarkably quiet. Daily walks keep him active, with a mix of shorter and longer outings that help him gain confidence. Although he's still learning about toys, he has playful moments, notably enjoying his “zoomies” in the evenings. Producing little sounds, Cooper just needs time to adjust and realize that life is good. His sweet nature and gradual personality reveal a wonderful companion in the making.
