Meet Waldo, an adorable 8-year-old Chihuahua looking for a forever home in Metairie, LA. When he first arrived after losing his owner, he was understandably scared, barking in his kennel. However, with some patience, he has transformed in foster care. Now, Waldo's tail is always wagging as he happily follows his foster around everywhere. He's also well on his way to being fully house trained. Waldo thrives on companionship with other dogs and would do best with a small friend in the home. He’s quite the protector, alerting his humans to anything out of the ordinary, which may involve some barking or nipping at strangers. For this reason, he needs an experienced owner who understands Chihuahua quirks. He may not be the best fit for homes with small children or frequent visitors, but his sweet nature comes out once he gets to know his people. Waldo is motivated by food, which should help you win his trust. We offer a foster-to-adopt trial period of two weeks to ensure he adjusts well.
