About Ginger

Meet Ginger. Ginger is a young female Labrador Retriever who was found as a stray in St. Charles on July 30, 2026. Initially, she was quite nervous and unsure in this unfamiliar environment. Upon arrival, staff noted a mass on her chest, and she exhibited anxious behavior by lunging at the kennel door when people walked by. Thankfully, after some time, Ginger has begun to acclimate. While she remains fearful when approached in her kennel, she's starting to reveal her true personality outside that space. Ginger is potty trained and loves attention. She's confident and forward with other dogs, showing responsiveness to handler directions. During a recent interaction, she displayed some dominant behaviors but also adjusted well when given guidance. As a young dog, she requires patience and understanding—what you see behind the kennel door may not showcase her potential. Ginger deserves an adopter who will appreciate her journey and provide her the time needed to flourish. She's waiting for someone to see past her fear.
