Meet Avery! She is a delightful, approximately 8-year-old dog weighing around 8.2 lbs and has some Pekingese in her mix. Avery joined our rescue after being retired from breeding, which has left her a bit shy at first. However, once she feels comfortable, she blossoms into a loving companion. In her foster home, she has made impressive strides in house training and leash walking, and she would do well in a household that includes other dogs and older teenagers. While she has yet to meet any cats, she seems adaptable to her environment. Avery’s foster notes that she loves to make her space cozy by collecting small items like socks and napping in her crate. Though initially timid, Avery warms up slowly, often coming to life with a wagging tail. She interacts well with her foster siblings, displaying gentle curiosity while avoiding conflict.
