About Rufio
Meet Rufio, a charming Cane Corso mix currently tipping the scales at 66 pounds, with a target weight of 75 pounds that his foster mom is helping him reach. Rescued from the streets in January 2026, Rufio is gradually learning to trust people. His gentle and shy nature means he takes time to warm up, but within a week, he began following his foster mom around, seeking affection and happily joining the family on the couch and bed. Rufio adores his foster mom and gets along well with her two kids, particularly the 9-year-old who has captured his heart. While he feels a bit intimidated by his foster dad, he has shown no aggression; he simply steers clear. Low to medium in energy, he enjoys evening walks, maintains good leash manners, and remains calm around people and other dogs. In the home, he lives with two senior Chihuahuas who might be small but certainly rule the roost. Rufio lets them take charge and is quite docile around them. As for house habits, he's fully house trained and communicates when he needs to go out. Crate training is going well too, as he stays secure and accident-free when left alone. Rufio sleeps soundly at night, alternating between his crate and the bed, always seeking to be close to his humans. This sweet boy is looking for a patient adopter who can offer him love and support to build his confidence. Watching him blossom will be an incredibly rewarding experience. Rufio is based in Houston, TX, but can be transported to most locations for an additional fee of $300. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let’s get started.
