About Emelia

Emelia is a senior female dog in urgent need of a foster home. Recently, she arrived at our door with a severely injured leg that requires amputation. Emelia is estimated to be between six and eight years old. Despite her injuries, she displayed remarkable composure during her veterinary care, requiring no sedation for her x-rays or blood draw. Fortunately, tests ruled out cancer, confirming she's healthy otherwise. Though we lack detailed background information on her, it appears she was spayed later in life and may have had at least one litter. Emelia has shown friendliness towards other dogs she encountered at the vet, yet we haven't formally tested her with dogs or cats due to her condition. At around 45 lbs, Emelia needs a calm space to recover before her surgery. If you’re interested in giving Emelia a safe place to heal, please reach out to the Columbus Dog Connection.
