About Honey

Honey is a remarkable 9-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently enjoying the comforts of foster care in Orange, VA. Weighing about 70 pounds, she is housebroken, incredibly affectionate, and has a gentle personality. Honey thrives around small children and does well with other dogs, making her a perfect family companion. Her journey to wellness is inspiring. When she first arrived at the shelter, she weighed just 44 pounds and was in dire need of care; she had fleas, long nails that made walking painful, and a coat full of neglect. Diagnosed with Lyme disease, she received the treatment needed and slowly transformed in her foster home. With time, proper nutrition, and lots of love, Honey has added 26 pounds and regained her health. Now, she enjoys soft beds, sunny spots to soak in, and the freedom to be a playful dog. As a senior, Honey does have some mammary masses that her future family should be aware of, but these do not define her spirit. She deserves a loving home where she can retire happily. Honey is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and has been diligently maintained on prevention treatments. Give this sweet girl the loving retirement she’s earned.
